Star Paper Mill announced the successful commissioning and startup of its new tissue machine in ICAD 2, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The first jumbo reel of tissue was produced on July 14.

The new machine, a DCT Crescent Former, was supplied by Recard. The machine has the capacity to produce about 40,000 tonnes of virgin high quality tissue paper per year.

“We are striving to follow the best environmental practices and to source the pulp from responsibly managed forests including FSC certified. We will offer products that are manufactured to the highest standard of quality, together with the flexibility to meet the diverse needs of our valued customers locally and internationally,” the company said in a press release.

Star Paper Mill produces a wide range of hygienic tissue paper in jumbo reels in various grades ranging from the most delicate 12.5 gsm to 38 gsm towels, such as facial, toilet, napkin, kitchen towel, maxi, centerfeed, auto-cut, industrial rolls and hand towel.

“Our specialization will be in value added products such as low gsm facial tissue, ultra-soft and smooth tissue, lotionized tissue with a satin finish, bonded napkins, multicolor printable white napkin tissue and very high wet strength towels. We will also be producing pastel shades tissues,” the company added.
